About the Role


Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our Qatar office. The successful candidate will possess the following. 


Responsibilities:


  • Undertaking Design review, review of D&B Contractor’s submittals (material submittals, shop drawings, method statements) and coordinated review with other team members/ disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Client team, internal discipline engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that design concepts are executed accurately during the construction phase.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections and inspections at workshops/ factories to monitor progress, quality of work, and compliance with design specifications, building codes, and regulations.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design concept, budget, and project timeline.
  • Identify and address design-related challenges that may arise during construction, proposing solutions that maintain the project's design intent.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including site reports, progress photos, and quality control documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients (if required), providing updates on construction progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with D&B contractors to clarify design details and contractors' shop drawings, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that construction is carried out in accordance with the design plans and approved shop drawings.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design. Additional certifications or training in construction management is a plus.
  • Working experience of minimum 12 years on large projects, like, Palaces, Hotels, Residential & Commercial Buildings, etc.
  • Proven experience in construction site management, with a focus on interior design projects. Prior experience in coordinating with contractors and tradespeople is highly valued.
  • Proficient in CAD software, 3D modeling (BIM), and other relevant design and construction management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining design integrity throughout the construction process.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address design and construction challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and project stakeholders.
