Raytheon’s Integrated Air & Missile Defense team is looking for a Senior Communications Engineer to join our small team to maintain integrated tactical communication equipment.
Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) provides proven integrated air and missile defense capabilities, ranging from advanced sensors to precision weapons. With more than 50 international partners and less than 60% international sales, LADS is committed to delivering next-generation, cross-domain solutions to counter global evolutionary threats. Key offerings include the Patriot air defense system, next-gen LTAMDS / GhostEye radars, NASAMS air defense system, Javelin weapon system, Excalibur projectile, Stinger weapon system, and Coyote family of counter-UAS and loitering munition systems.
This unaccompanied position will be onsite in Doha, Qatar for an international assignment with additional compensation.
What You Will Do
- Perform maintenance and upgrades as well as troubleshoot problems.
- Install and troubleshoot fielded hardware and software.
- Provide feedback to engineering and work with offsite engineering in a collaborative manner.
- Troubleshooting will include industry standard IT systems as well as program specific hardware, software, and procedures.
- Work closely with customer representatives to provide status and integrate customer changes.
- Mentor customer personnel on system specific tasks, procedures, and troubleshooting.
Special Requirements
Ability to lift, bend, and move through a normal range of motion to perform maintenance actions including lifting, holding, and maneuvering items weighing over 40 lbs. on a routine basis.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience working with WAN Networking, long haul links, VOIP, and data communications (Cisco CCNA a big plus).
- Experience with BASH, PowerShell and Windows Shell scripting.
- Experience/understanding of Ethernet routing and switching.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows system administration (Windows 10 and Windows Server).
- Knowledge of OSI model of network communications from physical to application layer.
- Familiarity with DISA cyber operations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, and V/UHF.
- Experience with software development in Java, C/C++, and/or Python.
- Experience with NSA encryptors, KG-175D, KG-250X, KG-255XFC.
- Experience or familiarity UPS systems.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
