To operate radiology equipment including but not limited to Xray, CT, Dexa, Mammogram, Fluoroscopy, MRI, interventional as applicable equipment including CT for diagnostic purposes. To prepare and assist patients during radiological exams and testing. To prepare and maintain radiographic records.
Collects key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis.
Educates patient, family, or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, may including informed consent as well as pre- and- post- procedure instructions.
Ensures the proper exam is being administered to the patient.
Consults provider as needed.
Maintains accurate inventory levels of all supplies as required.
Performs daily equipment inspections.
Participates in on-call rotation as needed.
Practises guidelines specific to ALARA policy (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
Assists the daily patients in the general x-ray Services in liaison with the Technologist II and Supervisor to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
Helps in implementing all policies and procedures relating specifically to general x-rays.
Keeps up to date with general x-rays development.
Performs high quality examinations as required by referring Physicians according to the departmental policies and procedures.
Ensures that all patients being investigated receive a high standard of care.
Trains and works in other areas of the department considered appropriate.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Accurate informs patients where and when their results will be available and who will give the results to them.
Works accurately to maintain a high standard of imaging and keep patient waiting time to a minimum to comply with standards of quality.
Ensures that monitoring standards provide a high-quality service for patient care, technical performance, and reporting.
Participates in a Quality Assurance programme for equipment and Radiation Protection, maintaining accurate records and reporting problems to the Manager.
Reports all equipment fault to the RSO, Manager and biomedical department as required by Policy.
Creates and maintains good working relationships with all members of the Medical Imaging Department and works positively to develop a cohesive team.
Liaises with the radiologists.
Promotes good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organizations to ensure that the reputation of the Medical Imaging department and Elegancia Healthcare group is upheld.
To be fully conversant with the Radiology Management System, and the computerized method of patient and examination documentation.
Ensures that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed.
Undertake to do any tasks as designated by the Manager/Supervisor in Medical Imaging department.
Ensures that patient confidentiality is not breached.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
Minimum 2 years of Radiology experience (required).
Minimum 1 year in GCC (preferred).
