We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Piping Materials Engineering Specialist. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below. Title: Piping Materials Engineering Specialist Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice) Location: Qatar Site / Doha HQ Working Schedule: 6 days per week / 10 hours per day --Experience Required— Job Purpose • Lead the Piping Materials activities for Major Project Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes and to provide design support to Major Project Engineering Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards. Key Job Accountabilities • Ensure that the Contractor’s Piping Materials Specification for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) Engineering, comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance. • Plan and schedule the Piping Materials engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with client operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system. • Participate to key design workshop including 3D model reviews. • Supports Major Project Engineering Manager in monitoring the contractor’s progress on delivery of the required documents in the Piping of Topsides and Pipeline disciplines. • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect the disciplines involved in delivery of the Piping Materials related to Topsides and ensures endorsement of Process Technical deviations to Company specifications when required. • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractors design or deviations from the company directives. --Minimum Requirements- Qualifications • Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent, however any qualification, technical or knowledge requirements may be waived through relevant work experience. Knowledge and Key Skills • 10+ years’ of relevant experience as Piping Materials Specialist, in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations. • Previous knowledge of Brownfield engineering and execution required.
