Responsibilities:
• Provision of general Pharmacy services for patients and athletes in the hospital and clinics under the supervision of Pharmacists. Prepare orders for Sports Federations / Clubs and clinics.
• Distribute medication through the ADC system. Assist Pharmacist in procurement.
• Participation in dispensing of medication for patients and athletes.
• Assisting the inventory officer in maintaining optimal stock levels and monitoring expiry dates closely. Ensuring medications are stored appropriately and securely.
• Responsible for the re-packaging of medications. For aseptic admixture service, be involved in the preparation of some special formulations.
• Assist Pharmacists in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist Pharmacists in preparing educational material for outpatient and athlete clients under the supervision of Pharmacists.
• Provision of practical training of other new hired Technicians. Update current skills and knowledge in relevant practice areas as required.
• Participation in any internal or external courses / meetings as required. Assure adherence to the hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Prepares Pharmacy Policy and Procedures and makes revisions as required and instructed. Participation in physical stock checks within the Pharmacy.
• Keeping records of monthly reports on dispensing activities and other relevant workload statistics.
• Maintain recording keeping of Pharmacy Quality Records, including daily cleaning of equipment and facilities.
• Maintains the Pharmacy safety programs including safe handling and storage of drugs, proper disposal of expired products and chemicals, and mechanisms to reduce medication events.
• Maintains strict confidentiality and proper storage of patient prescription records.
• Monitoring drug usage and reports to the director of pharmacy. Randomly audits stock and compares with inventory record for discrepancies.
• Ensures the efficient utilization of resources and equipment’s within the Pharmacy department.
• Promote and maintain quality in all services and ensure continuous quality improvement measures are in place.
• Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
• Patient Safety-Attend and successfully complete competencies which focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service, and contracted providers.
