The United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) operates world-wide with a target of providing resettlement opportunities to tens of thousands of refugees each year. IOM’s multi-disciplinary staff members provide a range of services and support to the USRAP including, but not limited to, case processing, migration health assessments, cultural orientation training, organized transportation and administration of a travel loan and collections program. The Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE), specifically the Resettlement and Movement Division (RMM), has the organizational responsibility to provide direction, oversight and guidance to IOM’s global support to all resettlement programs.
IOM is engaged in conducting safe, orderly and dignified air and ground movement for Afghan evacuees that have arrived in the United States of America under the United States Resettlement Admissions Program (USRAP). The aim of the interagency response to assist Afghan nationals to be processed as Special Immigrant Visa holders or Humanitarian Parolees and onwards to their final destination.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and Movement Operations Manager (Field Support), and direct supervision of the Operations Lead, the Operations Assistant – Team Leader (Field Support) will contribute to the oversight and supervision of movement activities in one of nine sites, which supports SIV and humanitarian parolee arrivals in the area of movements management.
