Carries out general and specialized radiographic procedures within their scope of competence as agreed with the Manager - Medical Imaging / Supervisor - Medical Imaging to high technical and quality standards.
Assesses patients & interprets clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
Undertakes imaging examinations in line with department operational procedures and policies, using techniques that produce the lowest radiation dose to the patient and staff whilst producing high quality, diagnostic images.
Practices good radiation, protection and safety and observes local rules and systems of work.
Complies with departmental ALARA and Radiation Safety policies & procedures.
Complies with MRI local rules, policies, and procedures where applicable.
Manages the designated working area and ensures that it is tidy, clean, and efficiently run.
Uses initiative to prioritize, deliver and time-manage workload effectively.
Assists clinical modality, as requested, and leads to plan and maintain an effective workflow within the department.
Completes and maintains applicable departmental records including the completion and submission of patient charges in a timely manner.
Reports all equipment malfunctions or faults to the manager and, if necessary, undertakes any further action to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
Participates in and contribute to Quality Assurance tests within the Medical Imaging department.
Acts professionally within the standard and framework provided by the QCHP and Elegancia Group.
Maintains active registration with the QCHP.
Updates clinical knowledge and professional development and maintains a professional portfolio in line with QCHP recommendations and requirements.
Participates in the department on-call rota.
Represents the Medical Imaging department, where appropriate (Health & Safety Lead).
Leads on all infection, prevention, and control processes for the Medical Imaging department, where appropriate.
Radiation Safety Officer link person for the department, where appropriate.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
Minimum 2 years of Radiology experience (required)
Minimum 1 year in GCC (preferred)
