The Market Analyst – Commodity Trading is responsible for providing in-depth market analysis and research to support the trading team in making informed decisions. The role involves monitoring global commodity markets, analyzing supply and demand dynamics, and identifying trends and opportunities that impact trading strategies. The Market Analyst collaborates with traders, risk management, and finance teams to deliver actionable insights, market forecasts, and risk assessments.
Conduct market research on commodity prices, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors.
Monitor global economic indicators and assess their impact on trading strategies.
Build and maintain financial models to forecast commodity prices and market trends.
Track real-time market movements and provide timely updates to the trading team.
Analyze trading positions and assess risks related to market fluctuations.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly market reports for internal stakeholders.
Identify trading opportunities through data-driven insights and analysis.
Conduct competitor analysis to evaluate market positioning and strategies.
Collaborate with traders and risk management to align research with trading goals.
Present market outlooks and findings to senior management and other stakeholders.
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and quantitative research techniques.
Strong ability to gather, evaluate, and interpret complex data from diverse sources..
Experience with market analysis tools and software (e.g., Bloomberg, Eikon, Excel VBA, or Power BI).
Excellent communication skills to convey complex insights in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role (this point to be available for all roles that have SAP access)
Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
