The Manager - Cardiac Non-Invasive Services is responsible for managing detailed divisional (center) education programming and commissioning activities of Non-Invasive Services, including Echocardiography and Electrocardiography, as well as collaborating with other departments regarding the implementation of patient care activities, unit operations and staff development/competency. The Manager - Cardiac Non-Invasive Services ensures that recruiting, commissioning, on-boarding; orientation and service operation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with plans and timelines.


KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


•    Uses critical thinking skills and judgment within scope of responsibility to give input and make decisions on issues impacting the Cardiac Non-Invasive services.
•    Responsible for daily oversight of all clinical activities and staffing issues of the Cardiac Non-Invasive Service.
•    Leads in the effective decision making by identifying and utilizing Evidence Based & Best Practice guidelines and protocols to ensure the provision of the highest level of diagnostic patient care.
•    Responsible for managing overall financial performance of the Cardiac Non-Invasive Service inclusive of Revenue, Expenses, and Philanthropic funds.
•    Responsible for the collection, analysis and presentation of monthly performance data.
•    Coordinates the execution of initiatives spearheaded by the Clinical Service Line Leadership.
•    Acts as the department interface with HR for the recruitment of Cardiac Non-Invasive staff.
•    Proficiently performs diagnostic Pediatric Cardiac Echocardiogram examinations, fetal echocardiograms and adult CHD echocardiograms, obtaining optimal views, and provides preliminary interpretation.
•    Uses cognitive Echocardiography skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
•    Analyses Echocardiogram synthesizes information and medical history and communicates findings to Cardiologist.
•    Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient/family while under his/her care.
•    Maintains ultrasound equipment, work area, and maintains adequate supplies.
•    Participates in the maintenance of laboratory IAC-Echo Accreditation.
•    Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all co-workers.
•    Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning patient care and implements processes accordingly.
•    Establishes and maintains working relationships and solicits input from physicians and other healthcare personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
•    Participates in quality improvement planning, including utilization of key performance indicators (KPI’s).
•    Participates in Sidra recruitment & Commissioning activities as required.
•    Integrates ethical considerations and processes in all areas.
•    Maintains confidentiality of patients and employees.
•    Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
•    Adheres to and promotes Sidra’s Values

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - REQUIREMENTS:


Education: Master’s Degree in a relevant field.


Experience: 10+ years relevant clinical experience in Pediatric Cardiology including 5+ years of managerial experience that is engaged in pediatric, fetal and adults with CHD and structural heart disease.


Certification and Licensure:


•    Registration in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS or RCS) and/or Registration as a Clinical Physiologist in country of origin.
•    BLS/PALS
 


Job Specific Skills and Abilities:


•    Demonstrated expertise in the use of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound equipment including ancillary devices.
•    Demonstrated proficiency in performing 2-D, 3-D, 4D multidimensional imaging, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiograms in accordance to standard practice.
•    Demonstrated expertise in fetal echocardiography 
•    Demonstrated experience in adults with congenital and structural heart disease.
•    Demonstrated expertise in generating accurate & timely preliminary reports.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
•    Demonstrated ability to provide planning expertise in a range of specialist cardiac procedures, including all aspects of Non-Invasive Cardiology
•    Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in the field of Non-Invasive Cardiology.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
•    Fluency in written and spoken English
