Primary Restorative Justice Coach - Bilingual

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current and appropriate certification.
2. BA or BS degree in a health-related field (psychology, social work, sociology, educational wellbeing…)
3. At least three years of teaching experience.
4. IB experience would be an asset.
5. Restorative justice experience would be an asset.
6. Bilingual in Arabic and English.

INTERFACES WITH: Principals, programme coordinators, teachers, teaching assistants, administration, parents, students,
learning support specialists.
JOB GOAL: To embody and represent the vision, mission, values, and goals of AIA in the community. To play a vital role in building and implementing school-wide restorative justice practices through cultivating relationships, training and coaching as well as assessing and evaluating the progress. To facilitate, support and monitor the implementation of
restorative justice protocols across the school and with all stakeholders. To personify and model the IB learner profile.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The restorative justice coach’s responsibilities are to:
• facilitate, coach and monitor a relationship between implementing restorative justice practices and change in school culture, the ability to engage students, and increased student performance.
• work with the wellbeing team and all teachers to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the continuum of restorative practices.
• address specific student and school needs to safeguard the implementation of restorative justice practices.
• coordinate, facilitate and support school personnel in data collection, assessment, and analysis of formal and informal data points for use in targeting and monitoring the effectiveness of restorative justice.
• promote restorative justice and restorative practice opportunities for the whole school community including students, parents, teachers and leaders.
• conduct restorative justice training and professional learning experiences to all school stakeholders.
• develop restorative justice framework and comprehensive restorative practice protocols.
• foster change in adult practice and accelerate student learning and performance as an outcome of restorative justice implementation.
• collaborate with community-based organizations, agencies and other partners in the implementation of the continuum of restorative practices.
• review the restorative justice program regularly, and plan for and carry out improvements.
• disseminate information related to restorative justice.
• develop reports and other communications to provide information, data, and data analysis related to both the effectiveness of the restorative justice program, and its impact on student outcomes.
• assist and support the continued implementation of partnerships to promote student voice, restorative justice practices for all students.
• assist with increasing the efficacy and fidelity of restorative justice interventions in school.
• consult with the school leadership team concerning behavioral expectations and needs of students.
• maintain accurate, complete and correct student records as required by the school.
• create healthy and productive relationships with all stakeholders
• use active and reflective listening skills and affirmations to demonstrate respect and empathy.
• Understand that behaviors, responses, attitudes and emotions are a collection of survival skills often developed in response to negative experiences.
• systematically learn and innovate with the wellbeing team to enhance student wellbeing through relevant and evidence-based practices.
• build and maintain a safe school community by attending to critical incidents and emergency management, safety and action plans, wellbeing alerts, individual learning plans, cyber safety, positive behaviors, restorative practices, and non-punitive interventions.
• actively engage in professional inquiry (PLC, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, data teams…) with the aim of continually reflecting upon practices and improving learning for all students.
• reflect by examining beliefs about professional duties in order to conduct self with integrity and transparency, connect and build learning communities, and respect and promote organizational, local and global cultures.
