We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a :
Instrument Engineer
Job Purpose:
Drive an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Provide maintenance Electrical Engineering support for Supply and Stock within FOPS in accordance with approved NOC procedures, guidelines, design limitations, technical standards and legislative requirements.
- Technical specialist in Control & communication system Maintenance / Engineering, Control & communication system Discipline Engineer.
Your main duties will be to:
- Contributing and assist the team lead to develop and maintain an incident free environment through maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Ensuring compliance with HSE (occupational) legislation, Company standards and procedures for continuous process, operational Safety & Plant Integrity.
- Material procurement process and engineering support where is this is main roll for hiring in relation to Standard and material specifications and QC requirements.
- Provide robust PPM and CM data with good engineering practice and company standards to support safe and efficient planning, preparation, execution and close out of base operations, campaign and shutdown maintenance activities to ensure high equipment reliability and availability.
- Visit offshore sites on task or project basis to enhance collaboration and supervision to sites to ensure successful delivery of job scopes.
- Manage the repair process for critical equipment, including visits to local vendor workshops and warehouses.
- Review Quality control allocated to Materials to optimize supply Leadtime
- Conduct the review of MRP to set appropriate level of safety stock to Functional locations
- Create Material sap ref. or update the material cards where required
- Identify duplicate material sap ref.
- Clear material cards on urgent basis to allow the supply (block for Procurement)
- Define the critical spare parts to allocate to Offshore stock
- Any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by Team Lead
Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication
You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Degree or industry recognized technical qualifications supported by industry experience (offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities).
- Minimum of 7- years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry in a similar role.
- Skilled and experienced in working in a multi- cultural and highly technical specialized environment.
- Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of cross discipline maintenance requirements, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and planning processes.
- Expert user of SAP Maintenance module
- Skills on repair and stock Strategy
- Versatile, resilient and able to interact effectively with peers and Management on daily basis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a large team.
- Medically fit to travel to offshore oil & gas platform
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Fluent in English written and oral communication skills.
