Job Description

The Hygiene Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in compliance with local regulations, HACCP, and Accor standards. This role involves conducting regular inspections, implementing hygiene training programs, and supporting all hotel departments in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for guests and colleagues.


Key Responsibilities:


Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance:


  • Implement and maintain HACCP principles, ensuring all food safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Conduct routine hygiene audits and inspections in all F&B outlets, kitchens, and storage areas.
  • Monitor food handling practices, personal hygiene of staff, and cleanliness of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Qatar’s health regulations and Accor’s hygiene policies.

Training & Awareness:


  • Develop and conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions for all relevant employees.
  • Ensure all team members understand and follow hygiene best practices.
  • Keep updated records of training sessions and certifications.

Sanitation & Pest Control:


  • Oversee sanitation procedures and cleanliness in all F&B and kitchen areas.
  • Liaise with external pest control providers to implement effective pest management.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness of back-of-house areas.

Incident Management & Reporting:


  • Investigate hygiene-related complaints and take corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports on hygiene inspections, corrective actions, and training.
  • Report any non-compliance or food safety risks to senior management.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement:


  • Work closely with culinary, stewarding, and F&B teams to ensure best practices.
  • Stay updated on new hygiene regulations and industry best practices.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives related to food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
  • HACCP certification is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
