· Install air conditioning systems, ductwork, and related components in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
· Ensure proper configuration of air conditioning units, including refrigerant levels, wiring, and connectivity with control systems.
· Follow blueprints and technical diagrams during the installation process.
· Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on AC systems to ensure optimal operation.
· Identify and troubleshoot system malfunctions, diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues.
· Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, fan motors, thermostats, and filters.
· Carry out repairs on faulty AC systems and ensure timely resolution of issues.
· Recommend and implement system upgrades or replacements for outdated or inefficient units.
· Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards during repairs and replacements.
· Safely handle and recharge refrigerants in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
· Detect and repair refrigerant leaks, maintaining the correct refrigerant levels for system efficiency.
· Test AC systems to ensure proper functionality, including air flow, temperature regulation, and energy consumption.
· Make necessary adjustments to thermostats, system settings, and controls to ensure the unit operates as required.
· Follow industry standards, building codes, and manufacturer’s guidelines for AC system installation, maintenance, and repairs.
· Adhere to all safety procedures to avoid accidents or hazards, particularly when working with electricity and refrigerants.
· Interact professionally with clients and provide clear communication regarding the work being performed.
· Educate clients on system care, routine maintenance practices, and energy-saving tips.
· Respond to service calls in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
· Provide detailed reports on system performance, repairs completed, and any additional work recommended.
· Track inventory of tools, parts, and equipment needed for routine tasks.
· Proficient in installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems and related components.
· In-depth knowledge of electrical circuits, thermostats, and control systems.
· Experience with handling and recharging refrigerants.
· Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve system malfunctions.
· Ability to work with technical manuals and diagrams.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
· Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures when handling refrigerants, electrical systems, and other potentially hazardous materials.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) or a related field preferred.
· 2-4 years of experience as an AC Technician or in a similar role. Experience with commercial and industrial AC systems is an advantage.
