The Head of Inclusion will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team working with Heads of School and the Vice Principal to establish the systems, structures, policies and processes to enable all students to achieve personal and academic excellence. The Assistant Headteacher (Head of Inclusion) will actively promote a culture and ethos that supports the school’s inclusive vision.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the Principal / Vice Principal in the effective and efficient leadership and management of the school, with a specific focus on inclusion, ensuring its compliance with local and GEMS expectations Supporting the school in achieving the key strategic objectives through formulating and leading on specific aspects of the school improvement plan relevant to Inclusion To lead a team of SENDCos, Thrive Teachers, Educational Support Assistants and Learning Support Assistants in the day-to-day implementation of the schools EAL and SEND policy To be responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and continuous review of the quality and effectiveness of curriculum delivery for SEND and EAL To oversee and support the work of any nominated lead practitioners within the school, providing representation at Leadership meetings, Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Pastoral and Curriculum meetings, ensuring Inclusion is embedded in all aspects of school life To be responsible for curriculum development and implementation to ensure that the needs of all SEND and EAL students are met through appropriate learning pathways and qualifications at all key stages Coordinate and undertake testing for exam provision and oversee the exam arrangements for those students with exam access provision for both internal and external exams, arranging and facilitating Examination Access Arrangements for iGCSE and A-Level Examinations Oversee the early identification and assessment of students requiring additional support, working closely with the Admissions Team and external therapy centers to ensure timely and effective support is in place from the point of referral Design and deliver professional development sessions for teachers and staff, promoting inclusive education practices to enhance the school’s inclusive culture.

Be a vocational and inspirational educator who supports an inclusive learning environment, with the ability to raise standards for all students Have had successful experiences of leading and managing staff resulting in improved learning and student outcomes Have extremely high standards and expectations for all, with excellence as the primary goal Be someone who is visible within the school community, with presence and exuding gravitas both in their appearance and actions Believe strongly in and fully support the wider extra-curricular life of the school to develop fully rounded students Be a team player and have the ability to maintain a sense of perspective and humour.
Qualifications and Experience:
NASENCo or equivalent, with PGCE including QTS Significant previous experience as a highly effective Middle Leader Further professional development in the form of the NPQSL or a Masters in Educational is desirable but not essential Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements (CPT3A) is desirable
