JOB OBJECTIVE
The Field Support Engineer will be mainly responsible to provide technical support to the User/Customer, undertaking technical tasks and providing answers to technical queries covering the GM400 Alpha Radar.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in close coordination with the Project Manager located in Thales LAS France, the FSE Radar will mainly be in charge of the following:
Diagnosis of hardware and software problems, Completion and submission of System and Hardware Problem Reports (SPRs and HPRs), Informal on the job training (i.e. OJT) for the Buyer personnel on radar system operations and maintenance, Routine system checks, Responding to requests from the Buyer personnel to perform system troubleshooting, System repair utilizing Customer Furnished spares, Initial assessment of failed parts to assess repair/replace decision, Modification/updates to hardware limited to changes subsequent to technical issues and approved by Radar Design Authority (TLF), Delivery of a monthly report on both radar systems, including availability, status of the radar systems components, past events, operation duration, configuration changes, Manage the logistic aspect of Failure flow for Master system. Monitor spare parts from Qatar Stock and manage the repair flow to France, Capitalize activities performed on the system (report, information for updating documentation, tutorials, recommendations … ).
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years of experience in radar technologies and radar related signal processing, ideally on Ground Master family 200 and 400. Serving in a National Force (military career) is a plus.
QUALIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering (electrical, telecommunication, computer, etc.) or equivalent.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Specific radars knowledge and associated commodities (Air Conditioning Units, Cooling System, Electrical Generator, …). Excellent troubleshooting skills. Strong Customer relationship skills: listening as well as clear verbal communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situation appropriately. English language: master written and oral English. Autonomy and strong team work ability with local and remote management & colleagues. Reactive, adaptable & flexible.
