Role Overview


Lead the food production team in terms of setting the standards, and guidelines, while ensuring the business KPIs are within the budgets and targets. The role focuses on working closely with Operations Manager in ensuring the kitchen is operating with quality, speed, and accuracy while meeting and exceeding our customers’ demands.  The Executive Sous Chef is a leader who provides supervision, and direction and uses their market expertise to grow the kitchen production capacity whilst optimizing  operations 


Main Responsibilities


  • To monitor and control all aspects of food preparation, hygiene and sanitation to ensure consistency and high level of quality at all times.
  • Assigns tasks and keeps everyone accountable; oversees the application of all processes as per SOPs
  • Maintains effective working relationships between managers and team members.  
  • To monitor and control equipment and machines functioning, to ensure a smooth operation.
  • To handle and investigate customer complaints or errors  in coordination with customer service and QA Manager
  • To be fully aware and conversant of HACCP policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day-to-day operation.
  • To work closely with NPD trainer in maintaining the correct criteria of meals and procedures and to assist with developing new meals for localised market 
  • To supervise the function of all employees, facilities and costs, hence contributes to maximizing the overall profit.
  • To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees through multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling and by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.

Ideal Candidate


Qualifications 


  • The candidate should have a professional kitchen apprenticeship or chefs training course
  • Has had experience leading a large number of team members in a kitchen environment
  • Previous experience is not less than 10 years in quality establishments working with large volumes of food
  • Experience with healthy food concepts is a big plus
  • Experience in the airline catering industry is a big plus 
  • Able to communicate well in English
  • Must be currently present in Qatar
  • Must have a higher education qualification

Knowledge and competency


  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (Google Workspace)
  • Familiarity with industry’s best practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Good time-management skills

Personality


  • Strong communicator 
  • Pleasant personality and able to lead and train with empathy and patience
