Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer with 7 to 12 years of design experience in a consultancy office to join our team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed LV (Low Voltage) and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) electrical design drawings, ensuring compliance with local regulations and authority requirements, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare LV electrical design drawings, including power, lighting, schematic diagrams, and other essential electrical designs.
Develop ELV design systems, including fire alarm, telecom, access control, and other building systems.
Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements for design submission, including KAHRAMAA, QCDD, MOI, Telecom, etc.
Work closely with other engineers and architects to integrate electrical systems with other trades and disciplines.
Utilize engineering design software (AutoCAD, DIALUX) for producing high-quality designs and calculations.
Assist with project coordination and collaboration, providing technical support throughout the design and construction phases.
Ensure all designs are up-to-date, accurate, and meet project requirements and deadlines.
Prepare design documentation, including reports and calculations, for client and authority submission.
Stay current with industry standards, codes, and the latest technologies in electrical systems design.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
7 to 12 years of design experience in a consultancy office is a must.
Strong experience in preparing LV electrical design drawings, including power, lighting, schematic diagrams, etc.
Experience with ELV design systems, such as fire alarm, telecom, access control, and other building systems.
Familiarity with authority requirements for design submission, including KAHRAMAA, QCDD, MOI, Telecom.
Proficiency in using engineering design software such as AutoCAD, DIALUX, or similar tools.
UPDA and QCDD certification are an advantage.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, design principles, and relevant local codes and standards.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring integration with other trades.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and team members.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate designs.
Education & Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
