Job description
We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Doha for a:
E&I Commissioning Technician
Job Purpose:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and supporting the commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring the seamless and safe startup of onshore and onshore facilities.
Your main duties will be to:
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks, inspections, and functional tests of E&I systems, including calibration and loop checks.
- Execute commissioning activities such as power-up, performance tests, and system verification for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Verify and ensure the proper functioning of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and other control systems.
- Support integration and interconnection between electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring seamless interaction with mechanical and process systems.
Profile
- Ideally, You will have Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) in commissioning and startup of E&I systems in Oil & Gas EPC projects, including onshore facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment, control systems, and field instruments.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, ISA) and industry best practices for commissioning.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
