Your Opportunity:
Stantec’s Management Consulting Group in the Middle East is looking for a highly experienced, results-oriented Design Manager – PPP Projects to provide consulting advisory services to one of our major clients on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the State of Qatar.
Your Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Stantec Management Consulting Team in Qatar in providing consulting services to clients in the development and procurement of Hospital PPP projects in the State of Qatar. The candidate for this position will be working from our office, and this is a client-facing position.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Lead the design reviews of Hospital PPP Projects in the project development phase.
• As a consultant Design manager, provide advice to the Client on different design options for the provision of Hospital (inpatient and outpatient) services.
• Develop estimates for various design options for PPP Projects in the State of Qatar
• Coordinate with other designers, engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders in the development and review of different design options
• Provide advice to the Client on various Hospital design options
• Provide advice to the Client on Value for Money (VFM) impact of Hospital design and patient services options
• Prepare conceptual design reports and presentations and present to the Client, internal and external project stakeholders
• Study and research existing medical facilities in the State of Qatar, including local laws and regulations and social and environmental impact assessment.
• Prepare presentations, technical briefs and present to external and internal stakeholders at all levels to accomplish the Client’s PPP program goals.
Qualifications
Key Experience Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the following are essential experience areas to be demonstrated by the job applicant:
1. Hospital and/or other social services PPP Project experience during pre-construction and procurement phase
2. PPP Project experience during concept design development phase
3. Experience in the design of Hospital facilities.
4. Experience with detailed designs, design reviews, and concept designs of Hospitals
5. Experience with managing design consultants and complete design solutions
6. Experience with environmentally friendly Hospital and/or facility designs
7. Experience working with PPP Projects in the Operational phase is considered a strong asset
8. Experience working with PPP Project Agreements and RFPs
9. Experience with advising clients during all stages of a PPP Project
10. Experience with Hospital / public health services PPP Projects, and availability-based patient services is a strong asset for this role.
11. Experience with Hospital PPP during the construction and operational phase is a strong asset for this role.

• Well-developed written communication skills in the preparation of presentations, technical reports, correspondence, and proposals are mandatory.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.
• Working knowledge of Hospital (Inpatient and outpatient) services-related project management is considered an asset.
• Exposure to and experience with Clients under client-facing roles.
Education And Experience:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or related disciplines
• A minimum of 10 years of postgraduate work experience is required as per the Client’s requirements.
