Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for managing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for Qatar Gas-related projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, with a deep understanding of Qatar Gas standards, legal frameworks, and best practices for contracts and procurement. The Contracts Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including legal, procurement, and project management teams, to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and optimize contract execution.
TASKS:
Contract Management:
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts related to Qatar Gas projects.
Ensure that contracts comply with Qatar Gas policies, local laws, and international standards.
Manage contract renewals, amendments, and extensions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
Act as the primary point of contact for any contract-related issues, providing guidance and resolving disputes.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify and assess potential contractual risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
Ensure compliance with Qatar Gas regulatory frameworks and company policies.
Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions.
Financial Oversight:
Analyze contract terms for financial implications and ensure alignment with the project budget.
Handle claims, change orders, and cost variations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of contracts, changes, approvals, and contract management processes.
Prepare regular reports on contract status, risks, and compliance for senior management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification in contract management (e.g., IACCM, RICS) is a plus. Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the oil and gas sector. Proven experience managing contracts for Qatar Gas or similar projects in the GCC region. Strong understanding of the Qatar Gas framework, standards, and legal requirements.
