POST DETAILS
Overseeing all aspects of emergency medical services across, ensuring the highest quality patient care, fostering a culture of excellence, and maintaining efficient operations within all Emergency Departments
You will be currently serving as Clinical Director – Chief Medical Officer. The work scope for this role will consist of 25% Clinical Work and 75% Administrative, Management, and Leadership responsibilities. The largest focus is on the leadership component where the physician will need strong management capabilities to ensure the effective operation of the Emergency Department. The physician will be into the leadership and management role in the areas of implementing clinical policies, budgeting, nursing, Allied health and physicians’ leadership and hospital administration etc. details shown below in Key Responsibilities of the Position
CLINICAL WORK (25%)
a) Patient Care: Provide clinical care and supervision as needed
b) Clinical Rounds: Conduct rounds to oversee patient treatment and care
c) Clinical Consultation: Offer expert consultation on complex cases
d) Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical oversight and support to various departments
ADMINISTRATIVE/MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP (75%):
a) Department Oversight: Manage clinical services, ensuring optimal patient care and resource utilization
b) Operational Management: Collaborate with nursing leadership and hospital administration to ensure high-quality emergency care
c) Staff Supervision: Oversee medical staff and ensure adherence to clinical protocols
d) Clinical Policy Development: Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care
e) Staff Supervision: Oversee medical staff and ensure adherence to clinical protocols
f) Policy Development: Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
g) Operational Oversight: Oversee clinical operations and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
h) Committee Participation: Engage in hospital committees to enhance services and contribute to development plans
i) Quality Assurance: Lead quality assurance initiatives and ensure compliance with JCI standards.
j) Performance Analysis: Review and analyze hospital data to track performance and identify areas for improvement
k) Education and Research: Plan and participate in medical education and research activities
l) Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory issues and ensure ongoing compliance
m) Leadership: Lead the necessary culture change towards a team-based approach in healthcare
n) JCI Compliance: Ensure the department meets JCI accreditation standards
o) Leadership: Drive departmental goals and strategic initiatives
p) JCI Accreditation: Ensure the hospital meets and maintains JCI accreditation standards
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
If you wish to apply for this position, you will require the following to qualify as a consultant with this institution, and as per the licensing authorities:
·at least 13 years experience in Emergency Medicine
·5 years experience in a senior leadership role
·post specialist qualification experience from the following countries:
UK – CCT
USA – American Board
Canada – Canadian Fellowship
Ireland – CSD/CSCST
Australia & New Zealand (Fellowship)
France – DES/DESC
South American Sub speciality/Board
Other European countries according to the qualification equivalence tables of the licensing authorities.
