Conduct Asset & Material and Spare Parts Inventory Accounting related financial accounting, management accounting, tax, and related issues with a broad overview of all financial matters relating to the section including SAP Asset and Materials Management modules. Contribute to the review and implementation of changes related to Asset & Material regulations.
Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end divisional activities following established guidelines and procedures, including addressing non-routine/adhoc activity providing recommendations and resolving routine queries as required.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory Financial disclosure for Property, Plant and Equipment in line with IFRS and other applicable laws and regulations. This includes providing analysis of capex movement by project and variance analysis.
Post all required Asset & Materials Accounting entries, including posting of book and tax depreciation, as well as preparing deferred tax entries for selected ventures. Review Warehouse and Maintenance entries to identify items requiring adjustment.
Conduct review to identify candidates for capitalisation, through regular meetings with other teams both internal and external to Finance. Review projects and provide recommendations regarding accounting treatment as capex or opex.
Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts, including variance analysis, as well as identification and investigation of financial discrepancies.
Create, maintain, supplement, and monitor internal orders used for cost capture and liaise with Project Accounting and end users to clarify set up issues.
Provide guidance on the end-to-end enterprise-wide disposal process, carry out de-recognition of assets, and undertake asset verification.
Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Liaise with internal and external audit as required.
Ensure compliance with Qatargas policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting, Finance, Economic or Commercial discipline; or
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA).
3 years’ experience in a Finance function in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Working knowledge of SAP/accounting systems.
