Supervise running and testing of Infrastructure equipment and machinery (such as power generators, all kinds of lightings, pumping stations, security gate HVAC systems, sewage lifting stations); ensure adherence to proper and safe procedures.
Supervise the tidiness and good condition of infrastructure non-movable assets (such as street furniture, sign boards, roads, directional signs, open car parks) all time for the benefit of EC Community.
Supervise contractors and technicians in the regular checking and recording of sump pit level, lighting conditions, to ensure they are within specified operating limits. Address any abnormality and take corrective action to ensure the no interruption is City Business hours.
Draft work requests and work permits to deal with unresolved problems and discuss the priority of such work with the Head – Infrastructure, taking into account their effect on the as-built systems / processes.
Direct and participate in regular safety equipment and system such fire detection equipment, and backup systems, alarms, fire-fighting equipment, evacuation modules and safety gear. Complete work requests to repair or replace defective equipment, ensuring they are carried out speedily.
Ensure the Sewage, Surface water networks are with uninterrupted flow. Discuss with Head – Infrastructure for any challenges in underground networks and facilitate the necessary maintenance in coordination with Facility Team as approved by Head – Infrastructure.
Ensure contractors and technicians adherence to safety rules & regulations and awareness of emergency / evacuation procedures. Conduct regular safety courses and tests.
Review and approve permit to work system documents for Infrastructure area, pumping stations & security gates verifying compliance with all safety measures. Make site visits to ensure compliance with safety procedures & regulations.
Plan and participate in facility inspections, monthly safety meetings, and emergency mustering drills.
Provide input to Head – Infrastructure for planning the Capital and Operating budgets for Infrastructure.
Prepare daily activity reports, monthly reports, staff and contractor appraisal reports, and other ad-hoc reports, as required. Conduct related duties such as issuing work permits and reviewing daily log readings.
Participate in the ongoing development and training of the department’s Qatari employees.
Investigate recurring problems and initiate improvements.
Regularly check material stocks and liaise with technicians on needs for diesel oil, water, tools, clothes, stationery, etc. Draft, review, and initial material issue vouchers and material requisitions to replenish stocks; expedite and follow up on urgent orders.
Conduct pre-implementation checks on drawings, proposed Plant Changes Request and new projects. Participate in project commissioning to achieve smooth implementation and scheduled hand-over.
Monitor pumping stations and controls via SCADA system
Adhere to ISO accreditation & regulation for all activities.

Minimum knowledge, skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field of study
3-6 years of relevant full-time, varied maintenance and operational experience including 1-2 years of supervisory experience in area of specialty
Very good communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
Exposure to project management or facilities management
Good proficiency in English; able to read and understand technical manuals. Proficiency in Arabic preferred.
