Reporting to the CFO, VP Intelligent Systems will be in charge of strategic planning & realigning the operating systems & technology, evaluating, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining the right technology & AI Solutions, as well as optimizing the AI & digital agenda for the Backbase Finance & Legal organization. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge AI solutions to optimize financial processes, enhance decision-making, and drive significant business value
Your responsibilities will include overseeing cross-functional and cross-teams projects, comprising both financial and technical (IT systems) experts, as well as ERP and data specialists. Your primary objective is to successfully deliver value for Backbase as a whole, through planning and execution of AI & Data roadmap for Backbase.
Meet the Job:
● Develop and execute a comprehensive systems & AI strategy for the Finance & Legal department, aligned with overall business objectives;
● Identify and prioritize AI use cases within Finance & Legal, such as fraud detection, risk management, financial forecasting & reporting, and wing to wing process automation;
● Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of systems & AI technologies, tools, and platforms;
● Collaborate with Finance & Legal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand pain points, and translate them into AI-driven solutions;
● Build a company wide internal Datalake / Warehouse and manage a high-performing team of AI specialists, data specialists;
● Promote and oversee the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI models and applications;
● Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in all company wide system and AI initiatives;
● Monitor and analyze the performance of AI solutions, identifying areas for improvement and optimization;
● Stay abreast of the latest advancements in systems, AI and Finance & Legal technology, continuously exploring new opportunities for innovation;
● Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner;
● Fostering strong relationships with company internal stakeholders and with cross-functional teams, actively challenging them based on technical content expertise.
How about you?
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred;
● 10+ years of experience in IT, AI and systems leadership within a Finance & Legal environment;
● Deep understanding of AI concepts, techniques, and applications, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision;
● Proven track record of successfully delivering AI solutions that have generated tangible business results in a fast pace;
● Proven track record on designing, implementing data lake / data warehouse and data governance models;
● Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization;
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
● Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies;
● Familiarity with basic financial & legal processes, regulations and compliance requirements;
● Experience in managing business system optimization in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment;
● You are adaptable and can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
