Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Student Counselor (Part-time) in the Department of Postgraduate Medical Education.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• conduct counseling sessions and achieving therapeutic goals with undergraduate and graduate students as well as PGME trainees
• formulate case including diagnosis when applicable through clinical interview and if required through formal assessment
• maintain records and confidentiality of counselling/therapy sessions
• assist in developing and implementing programs for promoting mental health awareness and wellbeing on campus
• design and conduct workshops to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes for increased resilience and positive coping
• research and develop self-help material for psychological wellbeing Crisis intervention through set protocols when required
• identify environmental stressors having an impact on students' and trainees' wellbeing and conveying the same to relevant authorities while maintaining confidentiality of clients.

Eligibility Criteria /Requirements:

You should have:

• a Master's degree in Psychology. MPhil or MS in Clinical/Counselling Psychology is preferred
• at least two years of training in counselling/psychotherapy and psychological assessments
• minimum two years of counselling/psychotherapy in educational or clinical settings with adolescent and adult populations and some experience of psycho-educational work
• knowledge of counselling theories and techniques
• ability to conduct objective and projective psychological assessments and draft reports
• excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• proficiency in MS Office
