Job Role / Responsibilities:


You will be reporting to AKU Director Solutions & Innovation or nomination purposed by AKU Director Solutions & Innovation. You are expected to be capable of leading business requirements scoping and documentation; implementation and/or maintenance of multiple modules in enterprise applications independently, Managing task and project through all phases of system development/Implementation life cycle. You will be responsible for independently handle day to day complex operational issues where thinking is guided by diversified procedures and specialized standards and precedents covering many situations. You will require to make decisions in line with the set organization policies to cater to day-to-day ICT operational needs considering departmental goal & objective.


You are required to have relevant academics qualifications and more than 5 years of experience, out of which three plus years proven experience of team management, in the field of computer software development, business analysis & process re-engineering, and   development/upgrade of software solutions to improve business processes that helps create business process efficiencies. Excellent inter-personnel skills, Project Management skills, and oral and written communication skills are essential.  Specifically, you will be responsible for;


  • portraying thorough understanding and working knowledge of data modelling and analysis techniques, requirement management techniques, and other software development methodologies
  • working closely with users to help define requirements, new applications, and procedures
  • carrying out feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, formulation of proposals for system enhancements, development, and implementation plan
  • understanding issues from the client’s perspective and monitors services provided to clients and makes timely adjustments as required
  • making low level decisions based on information that is generally clear and adequate, considering the risks and consequences of action and/or decisions
  • liaising with others to ensure alignment with the business goals and vision of the organization
  • leading development and maintenance of software applications while acquiring knowledge of the existing applications including both technical and business aspects
  • leading all phases of application development, i.e., study, analysis, design, development, and implementation
  • developing excellent understanding and application of data modelling and data analysis techniques
  • building and leading team of developers to build software application using standard software development tools including but not limited to VB, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, MVC, HTML, React, Angular JS, SQL, Oracle, and Database
  • developing tools including but not limited to SQL server stored procedures for application maintenance development
  • producing and maintaining requirements and application systems documentation 
  • leading and managing quality assurance and testing of new software application/changes/features
  • preparing self-development plan in coordination with the immediate supervisor
  • undertaking activities for continuous professional development in line with the plan and keep abreast of latest developments in the profession
  • operating within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standards
  • liaising with others/sections/departments including functional team and end users for better delivery/completion assign tasks and goals
  • working on special assignments given by the supervisor/manager.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:


You should have:


  • a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology from an educational institute of repute. Masters degree will be preferred
  • more than 5 years of progressive experience in software development, project management or operations management of ICT support team, with atleast 3 years in managing teams of medium size (i.e., 2-3 team members)
  • a proven track record of implementing large scale complex projects on time, within budget and in scope. Preference will be given to individuals having experience of financials and supply chain management systems implementations in large health care or education sector
  • experience of working in a fast paced environment and with mission-critical operational responsibilities
  • proven strong analytical, problem solving, and team building skills
  • experience of people management, budgeting and coordination will be preferred
  • the ability to communicate with all levels of organization and to work collaboratively with business partners
  • experience of working independently and in a team-oriented preferably leading, collaborative environment
  • proven history of training, couching and mentoring team staff and perform performance reviews
  • active listening, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
