Software Engineer III - Java, Qlik sense

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Data Platform team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Design and develop data modeling, visualization, and reporting techniques using Qlik Sense.
• Build various types of charts for Qlik Sense Dashboard Analysis.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and team members to refine user stories and develop product features.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to support business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in specific areas and advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands-on experience with Qlik Suite (QlikView/Qlik Sense) and Java/J2EE application development.
• Demonstrate knowledge of RESTful Web Services using Spring Boot.
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Cucumber.
• Implement data modeling, visualization, and reporting techniques in Qlik Sense, including creating QVD files and performing transformations.
• Develop various chart types for Qlik Sense Dashboard Analysis, implement set analysis, and manage ETL processes while maintaining technical design documentation..
