As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer, Business & Core Banking (CBC)-Global Customer Platform(GCP), we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals.
Needs to partner with different application teams throughout the life cycle to understand their application infrastructure and monitoring and apply GCP Site Reliability Principles, this requires direct contact with application teams. Excellent communication and ability to build and maintain the relationship is essential. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job Responsibilities
- Technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build automation based solutions or breakdown technical problems
- Supports aspects of the process automation engagements including requirements gathering, solution architecture, solution development, testing, deployment, and continuous process improvement while adhering to the firm’s standards and controls
- Automate tasks during systems maintenance events
- Develop automated solutions to optimize cloud infrastructure and its costs.
- Using industry standard monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana etc.) develop and maintain dashboards, alerting, reporting.
- Develop understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concept
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience in developing automation with scripts/languages (Python, Ansible)
- Understanding on Java-Spring based microservices application infrastructure and its deployment model
- Knowledge in cloud platforms (Kubernetes, CloudFoundry-PCF) including infrastructure deployment.
- Hands-on practical experience in Site Reliability Engineering and operational stability practices
- Experience of supporting using APM tools and monitoring dashboards in a large corporate environment.
- Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
