The Senior Project Manager will oversee the project management office (PMO), driving excellence in project delivery, resource management, and operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of project management methodologies, a strong ability to manage cross-functional teams, and the skills to align project outcomes with business goals.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Strategy- Leads project operations team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.- Develop and implement project management strategies, align with company vision and objectives.- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, tools, and methodologies.Team Development:- Mentor and develop project managers and coordinators, building a high-performing team.- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.- Ensuring the selection of top talent with the help of HR and PMO.Stakeholder Management:- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide regular updates, and manage expectations across different project phases.- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project goals and expectations.- Lead capacity planning and workforce management initiatives.Operational Audits:- Ensure quality standards are met in both Agile and Waterfall projects through rigorous testing and validation processes.- Analyze key project documents such as the project plan, quality management plan, risk management plan, and any relevant work products.- Check for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.Risk Management:- Identify, assess, avoid or mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and reduced impact on project budget and quality.- Resolve project-related issues, collaborate with relevant stakeholders to remove roadblocks.- Implement robust risk management frameworks across the project portfolio.Visibility and Reporting:- Foster effective communication across teams, promoting collaboration and transparency.- Prepare and present detailed reports on project performance, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.Coaching & Mentoring:- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers and team leads to enhance their skills and align with organizational goals.- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions to address challenges, provide constructive feedback, and set developmental goals.- Organize and lead training sessions or workshops to share best practices and improve team competencies.- Identify and nurture high-potential team members, preparing them for future leadership rolesRequirementsSkills: Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) in both Agile and Waterfall contexts.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects with varying methodologies simultaneously.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Experience in stakeholder management and client-facing roles.Experience in managing digital transformation initiatives.Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management.Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale projects.Strong leadership skills with experience in team development and performance management.Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.).Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field. Masters degree preferred10+ years of experience in software project management.Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), Product Owner, or equivalent are preferred.
