The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Population & Reproductive Health, Environmental Health & Climate Change, and Non-communicable Diseases & Mental Health.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- screen pregnant individuals to determine eligibility according to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines
- seek recommendations from on-site clinician before enrolling pregnant women in the study
- obtain consent from eligible pregnant women and support enrollment of eligible pregnant women into study
- train pregnant women and caregivers on the use of the telemonitoring program
- register and create an account on ‘Raabta’ for enrolled participants
- actively monitor dashboard on weekdays during business hours with flexibility to periodically monitor over some weekends for managing alerts
- escalate care when necessary to appropriate members of the patient’s care team (i.e. on-site clinicians and nurses)
- actively monitor the online clinical dashboard for telemonitoring program adherence among enrolled pregnant women and follow-up with patient in case of poor adherence
- act as the central point of contact for patients and their caregivers and respond to their health concerns
- maintain appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in form of clinical notes, progress notes, etc.
- assist in the collection and analysis of outcome data of the telemonitoring study
- supervise research analyst and provide coverage for other research personnel
- coordinate communication between relevant members of the interdisciplinary care team as required for patient care (i.e., clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals)
- demonstrate effective communication skills to avoid mishaps, delays, and lapse in enrollment and patient care
- provide updates to relevant members of the patient care team as required for the continuity of patient care which may include regular interdisciplinary communication touchpoints and ad-hoc communication touchpoints related to changes to the patient’s health status and/or care plan
- provide leadership in the development and integration of the telemonitoring program within the healthcare system
- examine current processes, identify opportunities for change, and provides recommendations for improvements.
Requirements
You should have:
- MBBS degree with a valid license from Pakistan Medical Council. Postgraduate training completed in obstetrics and gynecology field will be preferred.
- at least two to three years of relevant experience, preferably working in obstetrics and gynecology
- flexibility and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams
- excellent interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational skills
- excellent verbal and written communication
- excellent patient teaching abilities
- basic to intermediate troubleshooting skills with mobile phones
- ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams
- flexibility to work over weekends
