Introduction:

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH, Karachi is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high-quality undergraduate, postgraduate, and subspecialty training along with providing excellent research opportunities. In addition to the general paediatric and subspecialty outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward comprising 107 beds including 15 bedded high dependency unit. A NICU is comprised of 24 beds and a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be expected to:

• Have an independent consultant status and provide accessible, compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care to paediatric patients with a multidisciplinary team, in an academic setting
• Supervise junior trainees during their training
• Participate in Paediatric teaching of medical students and paediatric residents in their paediatric rotation
• Lead and coordinate the Patient Care Meetings with a focus on resident & fellow education in general paediatrics
• Organize different training courses and workshops, CME symposia about general paediatrics
• Undertake research related to pediatrics and develop research collaborations.
• Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.

Requirements:

You should have:

• Completed structured postgraduate training in Paediatrics.
• FCPS, MRCP, American Board, or equivalent qualifications in Paediatrics 
• Experience in a reputable institution and demonstrated scholarship through research, publications, and/or contribution to education.
• Should also have valid PMDC license
