Job Brief: We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist with a strong background in Power BI and SQL. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing BI solutions using various tools. This role involves transforming raw data into actionable insights, creating comprehensive Dashboards, Data stories and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. The candidate should be experienced in providing end-to-end data solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills. Develop, design & maintain advanced BI solutions and dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into BI tools for analysis and reporting, with a strong understanding of data pipelines and dependencies.
Utilize Power BI features such as DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query, and data modeling to create robust and scalable BI solutions.
Manage and deploy BI solutions using Power BI Services, ensuring data security and accessibility.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular data validation and quality checks.
Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and capabilities.
Lead the development and implementation of data collection processes and data warehousing solutions.
Develop data stories and deliver actionable insights to senior management and across the organization.
Design and implement data warehousing concepts such as data marts, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) and OLAP cubes to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
4-5 years of experience working with Power BI and SQL in a professional setting.
Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and Power BI Services.
Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) along with Data Warehouses like BigQuery (Preferred), Red Shift
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide end-to-end data solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with other BI reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, AWS Quicksight and Looker.
Strong knowledge of SQL. (Good to have experience with Python).
Experience with cloud-based BI data warehouse solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Good to have experience working with the Travel Industry
