Introduction:


The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 300+ Clinical Laboratories, 50+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. The Hospital provides Zakat for those patients who are eligible, and the health systems offers generous Patient Welfare to support those in financial need. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.


HIMS offers comprehensive medical record keeping services as well as expertise in medical coding, cancer registry coding, medical transcription and document imaging, all of which are crucial in maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date patient clinical records.We accommodate nearly 1.8 million medical records, with an average daily increase of 500 files. Every day, HIMS circulates about 4000 records both within the Stadium Road campus and with Clifton Medical Services.

Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • Pull out appointment and walk-in patients’ records from racks for ensuring timely delivery at point of care.
  • Drop loose sheets (patients’ document) in their respective files by verifying Medical Records number and patient’s name on loose sheets with the chart to assist/promote the mounting process.
  • Mount loose sheet as per prescribed order on daily basis to update the patients’ Medical Record.
  • Receive review requests and maintain review log, thereby facilitating the research activity.
  • Process stat request through system of un-booked patients’ chart for continuity of patient care.
  • Process batch printing of booked patients lists through system for the next day’s appointment, to make the charts available.
  • Prepare appointment bins by physician and location wise and send them to require locations on daily basis.
  • Trace missing files at all possible locations for the availability of charts in the patient care areas.
  • Shelve all returns in terminal digit order on the rack as per procedure for quick retrieval of records whenever required for continuity of patient care.
  • Any other related task as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • Graduation degree
  • 2 - 3 years of related work experience
  • Proficient at use of computer programs / software.
  • Good English communication skills both verbal & written.
  • Thorough knowledge of storage, transportation and maintenance of medical record files.
