Senior Analyst Operations

Job Brief:

In this role, you will work closely with the FinOps Lead and Software Engineering team to identify, execute, and automate cloud cost optimization actions. Your primary goal will be to ensure efficient cloud resource utilization and maximize return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Analysis and Optimization: Regularly analyze cloud infrastructure spending and identify cost drivers. Collaborate with engineering teams to propose and implement cost-saving solutions.
• Financial Insights and Reporting: Develop detailed financial reports on cloud spending. Provide insights to finance and engineering leaders to support informed decision-making.
• Automation and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve automation around cloud cost management. Implement tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and technology, to drive cost optimization initiatives.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards to track cloud cost optimization efforts and communicate results to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Cloud Computing Expertise: Strong understanding of cloud services (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) and minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining cloud platforms on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog and cloud native tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Financial Management Skills: Knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Data Analysis Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL, Python, and data visualization tools.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with FinOps Practices: Familiarity with FinOps methodologies and tools for cloud cost management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automation tools and processes.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals).
