The Senior Accounting Manager – DO offshore services private limited India will oversee a variety of tasks within the Accounting Organization, focusing on outsourced accounting functions. Key responsibilities include supervising the outsourced accounting firm to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and accurate financial reporting.
The Senior Accounting Manager will act as the primary liaison between the subsidiary's accounting operations and the company’s global accounting leadership. Responsibilities also encompass ensuring compliance with statutory reporting and tax obligations, coordinating with the outsourced team to resolve compliance-related issues, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting workflows, and supporting local and corporate audit processes by facilitating documentation requests and addressing inquiries from auditors. This position reports to the International Controller.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supervise and review the activities of the outsourced accounting firm to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and accurate financial reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the subsidiary's accounting operations and the company’s global accounting leadership.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and local regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax obligations, coordinating with the outsourced team to resolve any compliance-related issues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting workflows and recommend enhancements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Support local and corporate audit processes by facilitating documentation requests and addressing inquiries from auditors.
- Provide support for ad hoc projects and initiatives, including cross-functional collaborations, process improvements, and other assignments as required by accounting leadership.
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) based in India, with in-depth knowledge of Indian statutory, tax, and reporting regulations.
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in accounting operations within a multinational company, preferably with a background in overseeing or collaborating with outsourced accounting functions, including experience at one of the Big Four public accounting firms.
- Strong understanding of statutory reporting and compliance requirements specific to India, alongside an ability to align with international standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of payroll operations to ensure compliance and accuracy in payroll-related reporting and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the outsourced accounting team and global leadership.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within a multinational or listed company is preferred.
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or Coupa) is a plus.
