Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Specialist at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Research & Graduate Studies (R&GS), you will be responsible for:
- supporting Assistant Dean, R&GSin establishing contacts with funding agencies to help in obtaining research funding
- participating in developing budgets based on proposed study protocols with Finance, Research Office teams, and Assistant Dean, R&GS
- collaborating with the Research Office and SONAM faculty for writing extramural grants under the supervision of the Assistant Dean, R&GS
- maintaining a record for proper utilization of research funds of SONAM and reporting accordingly
- implementing planned strategies to ensure the quality of research output by monitoring and evaluating SONAM research, and by closely connecting with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Research Office
- assisting SONAM faculty in writing manuscripts and in disseminating research findings in high-impact scientific journals and forums under the guidance of the Assistant Dean, R&GS
- monitoring research activities and submitting quarterly field reports which will contribute to AKU reports
- participating in research meetings and presenting monthly monitoring reports
- writing and disseminating meeting minutes
- supporting Assistant Dean, R&GS in facilitating faculty in increasing chances of paper acceptance for presentation at national, regional, and international conferences
- implementing planned activities to support the Assistant Dean, R&GS in promoting research culture
- providing assistance in the functioning of the Nursing Research Unit.
Requirements:
You should have:
- a Master’s degree from an HEC-recognized or reputed foreign university/institution
- at least five (5) years of relevant experience
- ability to analyze budgetary line items for compliance with budget guidelines
- ability to work effectively in scholarly teams
- strong communication skills in English (both oral and written)
- excellent interpersonal, coordination, and report-writing skills
- excellent problem-solving skills
- ability to anticipate problems and devise effective solutions
- strong decision-making capability
- ability to publish and write grants.
