Research Specialist, Paediatrics & Child Health - MC

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

you will be responsible to:

• ensure proper risks, action items and decisions, using appropriate tools.
• proven mixed methods research skills
• ensure proper identification and enrolment of potential participants as per study protocol along with supervision of all projects related activities at study facility
• overall supervision of field office to ensure proper compliance of policies and smooth operations to facilitate commencement of project activities
• safeguard quality checks provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study;
• schedule meetings with project staff and address day to day issues related to project activities and prepare monthly project reports
• ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the CRFs
• safeguard quality checks for completeness and correctness of data collection forms and its archiving
• conduct periodic refresher trainings as per the need
• Maintain an inventory for trial drugs and other study related logistics in proper way and participant in administration of study treatment
• prepare and compile study progress report
• collaborate with the Data Manager, prepare monthly project reports
• present the study results as per the requirement
• familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures

Requirement:

You should have:

• MBBS with Master’s degree in science or must be enrolled in a Master’s Program (Public Health /Epidemiology / Public Health or equivalent qualifications.
• medical background with some research experience in maternal ad newborn care
• additional certification and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices
• at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably in data collection and analysis of field research or trial
• 2 years research related experience
• knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods.
• computer literacy and strong mathematical, analytical, and research skills.Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• willing to travel and work in the communities/ rural field sites
