Job Role / Responsibilities:


The candidate will supervise project activities from field to data management to ensure quality control and maintain good working relationship with staff, community and stake holder. He/she will assume overall responsibility for the preparation of protocols and data collection instruments/questionnaires, finalization of monitoring and data management options, Ethics committee approval, development of recruitment strategies to increase patient randomization into the study/trial, the provision of clinical trial materials, and management of the trial.


You will be responsible to:


  • Design and execute comprehensive health economics research protocols encompassing various studies, including but not limited to cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, and assessments of health policies' efficacy. This process involves defining research objectives, developing methodologies, and establishing metrics for evaluation. 
  • Employ advanced economic evaluation techniques such as activity-based costing to assign costs to specific healthcare activities, decision-analytic modeling to simulate outcomes for different healthcare interventions, and value-for-money analyses to assess the economic efficiency of healthcare expenditures.
  • Gather, process, and analyze healthcare data from multiple sources, ensuring the integration of economic and clinical datasets to provide a holistic view of health interventions' impacts and costs. This includes data cleaning, verification of data integrity, and the use of appropriate analytical methods to derive meaningful insights. 
  • Utilize a variety of statistical software packages, including R, Stata, or SAS, alongside specialized health economic modelling tools to conduct sophisticated analyses that accurately capture the complexities of healthcare systems and interventions. 
  • Interpret research findings in the context of current health policies and economic frameworks, translating them into actionable policy recommendations and strategic insights that can inform healthcare management practices and improve patient outcomes. 
  • Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary research activities, facilitating collaboration among economists, clinicians, statisticians, and other professionals to ensure that project milestones are met promptly while maintaining a high standard of research integrity. 
  • Engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across academic institutions and clinical settings to align research objectives with practical healthcare needs, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and resources. 
  • Prepare and author comprehensive manuscripts, detailed reports, and impactful presentations tailored for both academic audiences and non-academic stakeholders, effectively communicating complex economic concepts and research findings in an accessible manner. 
  • Actively participate in preparing grant applications and research proposals, contributing strategic insights and detailed budget plans to secure funding for future health economics research initiatives. 
  • Represent the research findings at various academic and industry conferences, seminars, and stakeholder meetings, effectively disseminating knowledge and fostering discussions that contribute to advancing health economics. 
  • Contribute substantively to teaching and developing educational modules related to health economics and management, ensuring that students gain critical knowledge and skills necessary for careers in health economics and public health policy.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:


  • Post graduate-level qualification in health economics, or economic evaluation, or Health Technology Assessment
  • Good understanding of the healthcare delivery system in Pakistan including facility-level delivery, community outreach program
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary work environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills  and communication  skills in national languages and English
  • Good knowledge of the public sector  particularly health sector budgeting and expenditure framework and resource tracking
  • Able to travel within Pakistan and approach government and non-government offices to collect financial and other data
