Abyss Solutions is reinventing industrial asset management both above and underwater for step-change improvements in; asset life, maintenance cost, and reduction of failure risk. Think oil rigs, dam walls, ship hulls, any asset subject to deterioration in water and weather.

Creating a 3D ‘digital twin’ of customer assets. Using drones and Abyss analytics is just the beginning, Abyss comprehensively classifies the ‘state’ of the asset to identify exactly what maintenance is required, providing precise direction. Abyss is driving to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into other verticals, even operating in space thanks to the recent Australian government ‘Moon to Mars’ funding.


Position Summary


The Quality and Productivity Lead, reporting to the Country Manager, will play a vital role in the sustainability of quality and productivity team goals. With a background in engineering or software, this role involves implementing company policies, optimizing workflows, automating the processes and overseeing fundamental quality assurance tasks. Collaboration with internal teams as well as globally, and maintaining a balance between AIT, Vendors and Quality team are key aspects. Success in this position requires a mix of management and technical approach, attention to detail, and active participation in fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency.


Key responsibilities


  • Create sustainable metrics-centric frameworks to align with company requirements. 
  • Understand and implement a Quality Culture across multiple segments of the organization by being custodians of SLAs and acceptance criterias (coordinate with workflow managers).
  • Effectively communicate or report the risks involved/ anomalies identified in the operational processes and coordinate with key stakeholders of the product team, delivery team and workflow managers to mitigate the risks (quality of deliverables, productivity gains/losses and training).
  • Development and Implementation of detailed Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans to inspect, test and evaluate product deliverables across various stages of the delivery pipeline.
  • Ability to pursue and push Collaboration and Teamwork to achieve quality targets in parallel to individual efforts.
  • Develop, Implement and Monitor Quality and Productivity related KPIs for each stakeholder to ensure responsibility and accountability of all Quality efforts across teams.
  • Measuring and ensuring correct production metrics are being planned and implemented. The governance lies with Q&P lead regarding the production metrics of the ops team.
  • Preparing reports by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Training and managing cross-functional teams in QA/QC practices and quality assessment of processes and deliverables.
  • Replacing processes that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for problems.
  • Maintain and track data on the Portal/ Power BI Dashboard.
  • Convert RCAs and NCRs into learning opportunities through effective storytelling.
  • Maintenance and Optimization of Cost-Time-Resources (CTR) Estimation Project. This organizational project demands feedback from sales and accounts teams.
  • Project reporting (Retrospective cost vs Planned CTR cost) of all major stock standard DWO projects to gauge the CTR accuracy.
  • Perform Quarterly auditing (mid-quarter) to ensure the backend data is up-to-date. Acquire feedback from key stakeholders to improve CTR.

Person specification


  • Proven track record of working in a quality-centric tech company.
  • Experience in teamwork, collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Total Quality Management experience.
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Database Management, MS Office Skills and Power BI Dashboards.
  • Experience in managing the preparation of engineering reports such as technical retrospective reports, production metrics and project analysis reports.
  • Familiarity and expertise in Abyss internal workflows with the ability to do spot checks and document them.
  • Experience in the use of CAD models of structures and/or engineering components.
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated ability to quickly pick up the use of new software.
  • Ability to do multi-tasking and reporting daily progress professionally.
  • Experience in working with or as part of remote teams.
  • Can identify with & display Abyss’ Core Values.

Qualification


Bachelor's level qualification in engineering or software is required. A Masters level qualification in engineering is preferred.
