Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior QA Engineer with extensive experience in the airline industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in finance-related projects, e-commerce channels, or Passenger Service Systems (PSS). This role involves developing test strategies, creating and executing both manual and automated test cases, and ensuring the quality of web, mobile, and backend applications. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, engage in defect management, mentor junior team members, and support process improvement initiatives. A strong foundation in database testing, financial reconciliation, and customer-facing systems is essential.
Must-Have Skillsets (Mandatory):
Industry Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in the airline industry with a focus on finance revenue accounting, e-commerce channels, or Passenger Service Systems (PSS).
  • Good understanding of airline sales data, accounting, and reconciliation processes.
Testing Expertise:
  • 5+ years in software testing, covering functional, non-functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Proficiency in QA database testing, including SQL queries, data validation, and ETL testing.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing test strategies, test scenarios, test cases, and executing test cases.
  • 3+ years of website testing, including cross-browser and mobile compatibility testing.
  • 2+ years of API testing experience using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, or Appium.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java or Python.
  • Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and basic web development concepts.
  • Ability to validate data sources, apply transformation logic, and verify data in reports and dashboards.
Agile Methodologies:
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and tools like JIRA or VSO for defect tracking and reporting.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Strong communication skills and experience working closely with development teams and business users.
  • UAT coordination and communication with finance and other business users.
Good-to-Have Skillsets (Optional):
Leadership:
  • Experience mentoring and guiding QA team members to foster a collaborative and improvement-focused culture.
Additional Domain Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with air cargo booking systems, holiday business processes, travel agency portals, and travel industry systems (e.g., Travel Box).
Additional Testing Tools:
  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Perfecto Mobile.
Community Engagement:
  • Contributions to technical communities or open-source projects on platforms like GitHub or StackOverflow.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in quality assurance, specifically within the airline or travel industry.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work both independently and within a team, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
