 Job Role/Responsibilities:


The Programmer Analyst position requires a person possessing relevant academics qualifications and/or experience in the field of computer software development. You are expected to analyze, program, maintain and manage software applications and their development through all phases of system development life cycle.


 Specifically, you will be responsible for;


  • managing AKU Global ERP operations and expansion, ERP support and implementation within the University and all its affiliates in any country
  • creating and maintaining software applications and gain knowledge of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspects
  • participating in all phases of application development, i.e. study, analysis, design, development, and implementation
  • developing excellent understanding and application of Data Modelling and Data Analysis Techniques
  • learning Software Development Tools in use e.g. PeopleTools and People Code
  • producing and maintaining requirements and application systems documentation efficiently
  • participating in quality assurance and testing of products
  • preparing self-development plan in coordination with the immediate supervisor
  • undertaking activities for continuous professional development in line with the plan and keeping abreast of latest developments in the profession
  • operating within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standards
  • liaising with others/Sections/Departments for delivery of the results
  • working on special assignments given by the supervisor/manager.

Eligibility Criteria/Requirements:


You should have:


  • a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science or related disciplines such as bachelor’s degree in computer science, BSCS etc.
  • 0 – 2 years of related prior professional experience (preference will be given to candidates having prior experience/knowledge of developing/supporting software solutions that are used to manage Student Life Cycle for middle to large Higher learning academic institution).
  • the ability to understand and effectively use data modelling and analysis techniques.
  • the capability to grasp, analyse and document business requirements with some level of independence
  • experience of bringing well thought out solutions and preparing modification specifications independently
  • a calm approach in demonstrating new approaches and thinking before acting
  • the ability to break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analysing information from a variety of appropriate sources
  • skill to identify client need and expectations and responds to requests efficiently and effectively while acts beyond explicit request within established service standards. Ability to meet client needs in a respectful, helpful and responsive manner and seek feedback to develop a clear understanding of client needs and outcomes
  • the ability to listen actively and objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing
  • prior experience of making straight forward decisions based on pre-defined options using clear criteria/procedures
  • the ability to recognize and act on present issues as well as offer ideas to address current situations or issues. Able to work independently and complete assignments without constant supervision
  • a history of completing tasks in accordance with plans and sets priorities for tasks in order of importance
  • the capacity to set goals and work to meet established expectations and adapts working methods to achieve objectives
  • the ability to give support to co-workers and works collaboratively rather than competitively as well as share experiences, knowledge and best practices with team members.
