Identify & implement control measures for High-Risk Areas in B&B for their safe & controlled working.
Timely closure of action items against SLTs, Walkabout, LIs & NLIs and Learning Teams.
PPE compliance through ensuring that workforce using all the recommended PPE’s.
Ensures HLAs and H2S Alarm systems are effectively functioning within their capacities.
Have good knowledge about hierarchy of controls.
Ensure Zero L2 Incident /Zero spills, Zero DAFWR in B&B area.
Close coordination with HSE & maintenance team for timely addressing various maintenance issues.
Production Planning & Blending
Ensure to be an active part of production planning & scheduling. Understand the impact of MRP, MPS & DRP on blending of the product.
Participate fully in developing weekly production scheduling to maximize productivity through blending the right product at right time & of right size to have an enhanced BBL/hr for Bulk & Blending.
To get daily Finished Product Tank status generate and get daily inventory of additives and base oils. Active participation in daily production meetings.
Responsible to blend all the lubricants with 100% accuracy using the blend control system. Good ability of time management & Analytical skills. Following all the protocols to stamp out the chances of contamination as per the compatibility guidelines. Ensure availability of Semi-Finished Blended products as per production planning. Use of resources in best way to ensure Blending volumes up to 75 MM Liters & above with no incident & injury.
Should have thorough knowledge about the attributes of various additives, specifications of raw material and finished products and tank flushing. Ability to read and understand Safety Data sheets, Certificate of Analysis of various chemicals. Able to develop SOP as per the requirement of various jobs. This activity also requires timely sampling of all of the finished product so that to continue filling operation with any downtime.
Managing to support shift operation at plant which include shift changeover, resource management, shift support staff arrangements for safe & secure operation.
Cost Competitiveness & Enterprise support
Perform monthly analysis of allocated OPEX for B&B for effective control.
Develop a strong pipeline within B&B activities for Lean Six Sigma projects for cost saving.
Timely switching to low-cost blending recipes through switching base oils & additive packages in liaison with planner & lab.
Analyze & improve BBL/Hour for blending, using high turnovers of high-capacity batch sizes for blending.
Manage/reduce/minimize overtime through effective workforce & shift management.
Implement PIMs benchmarking & recommendations for B&B to achieve & sustain position in Quartile1.
Effectively manage utilities under B&B specially managing steam & electricity usage.
Initiate Lower Carbon projects, both for cost & environmental saving.
Optimize the use of boiler chemicals through effective monthly usage & boiler.
Support and optimize the use of ITT Services for base Oil receipt through Ocean tanker & reduce use of other vendor for cost savings.
Monitor use of rental tanks at ITT with maximum capitalization of the allocated volumes.
Monitor BSL Fleet expenses & pinpoint cost saving opportunities by proposing contractual clauses amendments.
Ensure to enable value chain excellence by Support base oil business, explore new base oil traders, supply of bulk products to IPPs & other customers to support consumption of equity base oils & additives.
Blending of Viscosity Index Improver
Execute an expedient blending plan so that to ensure blending of various Multigrade products without any interruption. Strictly follow the guidelines to blend on spec Viscosity Index Improver.
Receipts and inventory Management.
Provide strong support to Bulk and Liaison with local refinery to maintain optimum inventory of base oil at WWBP. Ensure timely planning & safe offloading of base oil from ocean tanker requiring frequent correspondence and Liaison with Shipping agent, Port authorities, surveyors, loading masters. It also requires intelligent utilization of raw material storage tanks for safe transfer of base oil. Offloading activities may last for extended hours with extra vigilance.
Safe off-loading of all the incoming additives and base oil at west wharf terminal. Timely preparation of all the outturn reports. Timely sampling of all the incoming receipts. Ensures that consumption of additives is being done according to FIFO.
Support in Managing the inventory levels as per MRP for handling & storage pf additives. Timely communication to procurement & planning to maintain the required stocks levels. Ensure shelf life of the additives & other products to be in within defined range.
Timely Punching of all the finished products in SAP. Ability to check inventories of various raw and semi-finished products using SAP.
Share base oil MRP with analysis monthly with Production Manager.
Ensure timely Bonding/ Ex-Bonding Imported base oils & communicate the same to relevant finance & other stakeholders.

Purchase of base oil from Local Refinery
Provide strong support to Bulk and Liaison with local refinery to maintain optimum inventory of base oil at WWBP. Generate Base Oil Trend Analysis report for production supervisor. Timely communication of any price change by NRL. To arrange timely payments to NRL for smooth uplifment of base oil. Proactive approach to apprise the management about any possible shortages in inventories because of any reason.
Labor Handling (People Management)
Requires effective labor handling and ensure a suitable environment for production. Maintain attendance and overtimes records of all of the FTC and FTE’s working in blending and bulk. Providing proper training & refresher to all existing workforces. in order to prepare them fully as per Chevron requirements of Contractor workers. Perform competency assessment & development program for workforce. Develop/ train/ guide workforce for all of the key activities. Ability to lead the workforce by example and sustain a high motivation level. Arrange training sessions, In-operation Field Training, Tabletop training & briefing session.
Effective utilization of Contractor’s Fleet
Ensure effective utilization of contractor’s fleet in transportation of base oil from NRL and delivering of Products in bulk to various customers in other cities. Ensure that all contractor fleet is compliant with chevron standards pertaining to MVS and RTS.
Lead the work force by Example. (Align and Inspire)
Develop/ train/ guide workforce for all of the key activities. Ability to lead the workforce by example and sustain a high motivation level.
Maintenance of Blending Fork Lifter
Responsible for routine maintenance of Blending Fork lifter through competent service provider. Maintain a routine checklist of the vehicle.
Waste Management
Managing & safe disposal of all types of waste generated at Plant & other warehouses which include, Slop Oil, Sump Waste Oil, used generator Oil, Used Fork lifter Oil, Lab washing waste, Lab hazardous chemical waste etc. through Global Environmental Lab or any other compliant agency. Disposal & incineration of waste including slop oils, non-conforming raw material, base oils & Finished products, empty additive drums.
Boiler and Compressor
Intelligent use of plant utility resources like boiler, Compressor, and generator with the help of Maintenance team. Devise an effective maintenance plan for Boiler with no interruption in daily operation, 100% Compliance to ensure for Boiler operation.
Receipt of Local/Imported Base Oil (Stakeholder Management)
Ensure to have the best working relationship & management of all the relevant stakeholders including but not limited to the following:
National Refinery Limited NRL - for upliftment of local Group-I base oil.
Port authorities - for timely discharge of the Ocean tanker bringing in the imported base oils.
Customs authorities - for timely product In-Bond & Ex-Bond.
International Tank & Terminals ITT - for managing rental base oil & imported base oil handling.
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering, Pakistan maritime Security agency - for marine safety activities.
Global Environ mental lab / GEMS for timely disposal of waste products & other wastes.
Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan HDIP for product testing & managing OGRA requirement.
Internal Stakeholders including Procurement, Planning, Lab, stock controlling, Scheduling, Filling, D&L and M&P.

Product Knowledge & Quality Assurance
Have good product knowledge, especially petroleum products & lubricants.
Managing Product contamination through understanding & use of Compatibility matrix
Reduction in flush generation through flush monitoring & using Flushing-matrix.
Managing purchase, storage & handling of Boiler Chemicals & their proper usage.
Managing SDSs of all the product categories under B&B.
Requires in-depth knowledge about QA & OE documents. Ability to write work instructions and familiarity with audit procedures.
Understanding of ISO Quality Management System standards including ISO 9000, ISO 14000 & OHSAS 18001 standard.
Asset Integrity & Reliability
Responsible for maintaining asset integrity for the asset under B&B including the following:
Liaison with maintenance & relevant vendors for timely upgrading and archiving of Blend Control System. Ensure availability of backup systems / BCP to ensure uninterrupted blending activity.
Intelligent use of plant utility resources like boiler, drum heating oven, compressor and generator with the help of maintenance team. Devise an effective maintenance plan for Boiler with no interruption in daily operation.
Maintain Facility Tank register in consultation with maintenance Team for an effective & timely execution of Tank maintenance program. Liaison with planner & scheduler for timely release of the equipment, especially tanks & kettles for maintenance.
Ensure safe & reliable maintenance of the safety devices under B&B which includes Level Switches, level transmitters, PRVs, PCVs, Drum heating device, alarm systems & H2S alarm system.
Ensure maintenance of measuring devices including measuring scales, dip tapes, sampling devices,
Understanding Process Safety Standard, ensure compliance through Maintenance team.
Routine maintenance of Blending Fork lifter through competent service provider.
Ensure reviewing, updating & maintenance of critical piping under B&B both within the facility & the ones going towards jetty & the adjacent facility ITT.
Assisting in developing PRs & their proper follow ups with regards to Operation & projects (if asked) and also ensuring the job completion.
