JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE


  • Develop and Implement Tax Planning Strategies - Create and execute effective tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.


  • Ensure Tax Compliance - Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal tax regulations.


  • Tax Preparation and Reporting - Prepare and file accurate tax returns and reports.


  • Manage Tax Audits - Handle tax audits and ensure proper documentation to support tax positions.


  • Liaise with Tax Authorities - Communicate and negotiate with tax authorities to resolve any issues.


  • Identify and Mitigate Tax Risks - Proactively identify potential tax risks and implement measures to mitigate them.


  • Provide Strategic Tax Advice - Offer strategic tax advice on business transactions and new initiatives.


  • Stay Updated on Tax Laws - Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.


  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams - Work with other departments to provide tax-related insights and support decision-making processes


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED


Experiences & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is required in accounting, Finance, or a related field.


  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in related areas


  • Work experience in FMCG and/or in a MNC (would be an advantage)

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, familiarity with tax systems and technology, including SAP and Excel.


  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex tax data and provide actionable insights.


  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present tax information.


  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tax reporting and analysis.


  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals.


  • Decision-Making: Proficiency in making informed decisions based on financial analysis and market trends.


  • Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying financial issues and developing effective solutions to address them.


  • Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating financial risks to protect the company’s assets and profitability.
