Specific responsibilities include to:• Lead and mentor a team of GIS professionals, providing guidance on projects, skill development, and performance management • Encourage a supportive and cooperative workplace • Develop and implement GIS strategies aligned with organizational and project goals• ensuring seamless integration of geospatial data in planning and operational processes.• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand spatial data needs, provide insights, and integrate GIS solutions into larger projects• Provide technical guidance and training to staff on GIS applications, data collection methods, and geospatial data analysis• Establish GIS data management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient workflows across the organization.• Plan, coordinate, and monitor GIS projects, including budgeting, timelines, and resources, to deliver timely and successful project outcomes.• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies• Collaborate in creating GIS methodologies for research studies, including data modeling, spatial analysis, and technical documentation, to produce scientifically rigorous publications and reports. Requirements:You should have:Master’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems and/or Remote Sensing, or a related field Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial analysis tools.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in GIS, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory roleProficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and geospatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial)Strong knowledge of spatial analysis, data modeling, and remote sensing techniquesExperience with Python or R for geospatial analysis, and familiarity with web mapping platforms (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox)Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Engine)Knowledge of database management and data integration methodologies Experience in authoring or co-authoring research articles, reports, or methodologies in geospatial disciplines, ideally within a public health contextStrong analytical skills for interpreting geospatial data and contributing to scientifically valid research conclusionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex data to non-technical audiencesProblem-solving and analytical thinking abilities with strong leadership and team management skillsThis is the closed-ended position to be based in Karachi.
