The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead its marketing and communications efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility of a leading institution dedicated to advancing educational development in Pakistan and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Management: As brand custodian, present the Institute as a learning hub for educational leaders, researchers, teachers and policy makers across all communication channels;
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and sustain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including media, to strengthen institutional visibility. Collaborate with outreach, professional development centres, and graduate programme office to develop targeted strategies;
- Digital Communication: Oversee AKU-IED’s digital presence, leveraging social media and analytics tools to optimise engagement. Manage content calendars, ensuring dynamic and impactful digital outreach;
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for website, brochures, newsletters, press releases, and institutional reports, ensuring alignment with the Institute’s mission and strategic objectives;
- Internal & External Communication:Work with the Dean and senior leadership to create and implement communication strategies that integrate seamlessly across departments, including the promotion of various institutional events;
- Policy Advocacy and Public Education: Based on institutional priorities, advocate for policy change and promote critical educational ideas in society at large.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A Master’s degree in marketing, Communications, Media Sciences, or a relevant field from an HEC-recognized or reputable international university;
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar role within a reputable organization. Prior experience in higher education or the development sector will be preferred;
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrable experience of digital communications, content creation, and social media platform management.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Creativity in developing and implementing communication strategies;
- Proficiency in social media management, web design basics, and analytical tools for monitoring communication impact;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to nurture partnerships;
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English and Urdu;
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information to craft compelling narratives;
