What is Manager Consolidation?


Consolidation department is responsible to consolidate set of financials received from each Opco and come up with single consolidated financials which are then used for statutory reporting’s across the globe. We also work with different departments on ongoing projects & data from our department is usually used to initiate the direction in which the ship is to sail. Manager consolidation plays a pivotal role in all this and liaises with all HQ functions & OpCos to ensure consolidation is top notch


The role reports directly to the Head of Consolidation and has 1 direct report with an extended team of 5 team members


What Manager Consolidation does?


  • Familiarize yourself with the consolidation system & the protocols involved in dealing with certain situations
  • Get on job training on Hyperion
  • Prepare analysis using smart view files
  • Actively participate in scenario testing
  • Correspond with group external reporting team & other group functions to develop understanding of the interlink between functions when dealing with different situations
  • Keep Desk Top Procedures (DTP’s) updated
  • Ensure consolidation manual is up to date
  • Interact with OpCos and look at their issues and recommend practical solutions
  • Work on ownerships in GRS
  • Start developing adhoc analysis as per requirements  
  • Lead HFM change releases & testing     
  • Prepare detailed planning & monthly closing instructions                                           
  • Prepare yearly finance calendars
  • Provide HQ functions with data needed from consolidation system
  • Deal with specific transactions & ensure they are reflected appropriately to ensure correct base level results & consolidated results
  • Prepare testing results and discuss them with IT teams if results differ from expectations
  • Start preparing group wide entity reconciliations
  • Deal with auditors and provide them with the agreed upon information
  • Prepare SOX documentations
  • Deal with stakeholders like FP&A, EPM, tax, treasury & help them out in necessary matters
  • Review assigned area of consolidation
  • Prepare quarterly related party list, EPS, disclosure checklist, litigation report analysis
