Introduction:

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the Aga Khan University is dedicated to providing cutting-edge clinical services to children. We offer high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate training, including subspecialty training and research opportunities. Our inpatient facilities feature a Paediatric ward with two units totaling 84 beds and a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (Neonatal/Paediatric & Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care units) equipped with the latest technologies and protocols. Additionally, our Paediatric Cardiology section offers a recognized three-year Fellowship training program accredited by CPSP.

Responsibilities:

This role involves providing direct patient care and developing essential clinical skills in pediatric nephrology under the supervision of attending consultants. Responsibilities include teaching medical students and junior residents and actively participating in research projects to advance knowledge in the field.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Make patient care decisions in consultation with the on-call faculty.
• Conduct rounds in the ward, PICU, and special care units before faculty rounds.
• Attend nephrology clinics and respond to all pediatric nephrology consults.
• Perform rounds in the hemodialysis unit, particularly upon the arrival of pediatric maintenance dialysis patients during hospital hours.
• Assist in renal biopsy procedures.
• Actively participate in organizing nephrology workshops, webinars, and conferences.
• Contribute to research by writing and publishing research papers.
• Attend sectional and departmental educational activities, including morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings.
• Collaborate with the Centre for Clinical Best Practices to develop and complete sectional guidelines.

Requirements:

• MBBS from a recognized institution.
• FCPS II in Paediatrics.
• Four years of residency training in Paediatrics.
• Valid license from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)
