About the job HSE Officer
HRSI is looking for HSE Officer for one its leading client.Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of the workplace to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees to ensure adherence to best practices and legal requirements.
Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, including the handling, disposal, and storage of hazardous materials.
Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct safety drills, including fire, evacuation, and first aid drills.
Maintain and update safety records, including accident reports, safety data sheets, and training logs.
Work closely with various departments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Ensure the organization is prepared for safety and environmental audits and inspections from regulatory agencies.
Respond to environmental emergencies, such as spills or leaks, and coordinate the appropriate response and cleanup.
Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure employees are adequately trained in its usage.
Ensure that environmental sustainability initiatives are implemented and aligned with company goals.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as an HSE Officer or in a similar role, preferably in [industry or field].
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
Strong understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
Ability to conduct training and presentations on HSE topics.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or other relevant certifications) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science.
Experience in [specific industry or field, e.g., construction, manufacturing, energy].
Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
