What is Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)?


The Head of FP&A at Deodar will lead the financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and financial transformation functions. This role is responsible for providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions, ensuring robust financial planning processes, and driving operational efficiencies. Currently reporting to the CEO Deodar, the Head of FP&A will play a critical role in shaping Deodar's financial strategy, ensuring sustainable growth, and delivering accurate and timely financial analysis tailored to the towerco business model.


What Does Head of Financial Planning & Analysis do?


  1. Financial Planning & Budgeting
  • Lead the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes, aligning financial goals with Deodar’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis, specifically tailored to the tower leasing and infrastructure business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial inputs, ensuring accuracy and consistency across departments.
  • Provide financial forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and rolling projections to guide decision-making and business optimization.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights to senior leadership, identifying key revenue drivers (e.g., tenancy growth, lease-up rates, energy margins) and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards while adapting reporting frameworks to reflect towerco-specific metrics (e.g., tenancy ratios, maintenance capex, anchor tenant performance).
  • Analyze and report on key operational KPIs, including site-level profitability, revenue per tenant, and energy revenue vs. costs.
Business Partnering & Strategic Insights
  • Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency and revenue growth.
  • Advise senior management on the financial impact of business decisions, including new tower builds, colocation opportunities, and leaseback arrangements.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Operations teams to evaluate new revenue streams, including energy-as-a-service and 5G-related infrastructure opportunities.
  1. Financial Transformation & Process Improvement
  • Lead financial transformation initiatives, including the adoption of advanced financial planning systems and automation tools.
  • Implement best-in-class FP&A processes to enhance forecasting accuracy, operational agility, and decision support.
  • Streamline financial workflows to reduce manual reporting efforts and improve data integrity.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of financial models and systems to support Deodar's growth and scalability.
Capital Expenditure (Capex) Management
  • Develop and monitor Capex plans aligned with Deodar’s growth strategy, ensuring efficient deployment of resources across new tower builds, site upgrades, and energy investments.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on Capex investment cases, focusing on IRR, payback periods, and long-term profitability.
  • Work closely with the Deployment and Operations teams to track project-level spending and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic insights to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure transparency in financial communication across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration between finance, commercial, and operational teams to align on business objectives and performance tracking.

Requirements


What are we looking for and what does it require to be Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at Deodar?


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics,  plus professional certifications/degrees i.e. CA, ACCA, ACMA, MBA, CFA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience, including 5+ years in a senior FP&A role.
  • Proven track record of financial leadership within a Towerco, infrastructure, or capital-intensive business.
  • Experience leading financial transformation projects and implementing advanced planning systems.

Skills & Competencies:


  • Strategic Financial Planning: Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and long-term business planning.
  • Operational & Business Insight: Strong understanding of Towerco-specific metrics, including tenancy ratios, energy margin tracking, and site profitability.
  • Communication & Influence: Ability to convey complex financial information clearly to executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong quantitative skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficient in financial planning software systems and advanced Excel modeling; familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor a high-performing FP&A team while collaborating across business functions.
