Fraud Operations Manager

About The Team

Trust is Deliveroo’s dedicated fraud and abuse prevention group, working across all sides of the marketplace and all markets. Our mission is to make life harder for fraudsters and easier for genuine Deliveroo customers. We are a single threaded group of fraud operations specialists, software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, designers and product managers, working in close partnership with Compliance, Payments, Care and teams across the business. We are looking for an experienced manager to lead fraud operations for Deliveroo.

 

What you’ll be doing

In this role you'll be finding solutions to some of the toughest and most exciting questions we must answer for Deliveroo. You’ll lead a team of fraud analysts to improve fraud detection and prevention and help to accelerate our shift towards more precise and automated fraud decisioning. 

• Operational excellence: identify, prioritise and deliver step-change improvements to fraud detection, prevention and internal processes. 
• Manage a team of fraud analysts, ensuring they are set up to be a high performing team. 
• Analyse fraud trends and patterns to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
• Support with fraud investigations, escalations and incident management, producing high quality analysis and driving rapid resolution of emerging fraud issues. 
• Own the alerting and monitoring processes, which includes proactive monitoring and responding to potential fraud alerts.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the fraud operations team.

• Extensive experience in relevant operations, product or strategy roles
• Can prioritise effectively as well as manage multiple projects and team-members concurrently
• Takes pride in coaching and developing junior team-members and others in the business

Analytical and Collaborative

• Strong ability to join quantitative and qualitative approaches to frame and synthesise complex business problems into clear, concise and easy-to-understand solutions
• Is adept at conducting 80/20 analysis, drawing out business insights from that analysis and presenting findings and recommendations persuasively
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for presenting data and information in clear, compelling ways to communicate concepts and desired outcomes.
• Have experience working in a global, consumer business with geographically distributed teams

Nice-to-have

• Experience in relevant domains (fraud, compliance, payments). 
• Data analytics skills e.g. SQL.
